The Village Idiots and friends will be performing at a fundraising event for Ella, a little girl born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a rare heart defect in which the left ventricle never fully develops.

According to the Facebook event page:

Ella is now 3 years old and has gone through the three stages of surgery, as recommended by her physicians, known as Fontan procedure.

They discovered that this third surgery might not be working for Ella and are still working very hard on getting her body to accept the new system, which means more time in the hospital, more testing, and possibly a heart transplant.

The event is this Sunday, Oct. 26 at the Backyard Ale House (523 Linden St., Scranton). Donations will be taken at the door; a $20 donation or higher gets attendees a wristband that allows them to take advantage of the open bar (domestic drafts and bottles, craft drafts, well drinks, and wine) from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. There will be basket raffles and 50/50 tickets.

Baskets and gift certificates were donated by local businesses, such as Dawn’s Ruby Room, Loyalty Barber Shop & Shave Parlor, Attunements by Fud, The Keys, and hair stylist Amy Lukeski, among others.

“Ella’s Patio Jam” will feature the Grateful Dead-influenced Village Idiots and other guest musicians.
