From a press release:

The Lavelle Strategy Group is holding its second social fundraiser to benefit Diva Productions on Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., bringing several different types of artists together for a night of community engagement.

Held at POSH at The Scranton Club (404 N. Washington Ave., Scranton), the purpose of “Poetry Prose and Portraits” is to gather the finest writers, actors, artists, and community members in a mid-week social to meet, share a drink and hors d’oeuvres, and revel in the arts culture of Scranton. One-third of all proceeds will help Diva Productions continue to cultivate the arts in all its forms, for all the community, at The Olde Brick Theater in Scranton.

Artistic experiences during the fundraiser will include poet Jack McGuigan, actress Carla Reck, writer K.K. Gordon, artist Ted Michalowski, and “Poet in a Pocket” Laurel Radzieski, who will write poems about guests on the spot.

Diva Productions has been entertaining the people of the Scranton area since 2007, and this
fundraiser will continue that trend. Efforts to enrich the public include many options for individuals to engage in the arts, including Community Theater, which holds open auditions for all productions. Drawma Club drawing sessions are held every Tuesday Night from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Synaesthesia Social features live adventurous music from notable and unique musicians for the community to walk in,
listen, watch, and draw every Sunday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Scene Study is held Wednesday nights for
adults only, with new classes forming in January 2015.

Diva’s current interactive production, “The Final Houdini Seance,” is running until Nov. 8. Diva’s next production is “A Christmas Carol,” which runs Dec. 5-14.
