PHOTOS: Tomato Bar & Bistro 1st annual Oktoberfest, 09/26-28/14
It’s officially autumn, but it sure didn’t feel like it on a warm Friday night as the Tomato Bar & Bistro held their first annual Oktoberfest. Located in the heart of Pittston, attendance was in abundance as the three-day celebration ran from Sept. 26-28.
The event featured 15 different Oktoberfest beers and 10 different pumpkin beers, plus patrons were able to take home a commemorative glass.
Of course it wouldn’t be an Oktoberfest without food, and attendees were sure to bring their appetite for an exclusive German-inspired menu, featuring pretzels, kielbasa, bratwurst, jagerschnitzel, and sauerbraten-style steak.
In additional to the German food and beer, the event featured entertainment from local acts Flaxy Morgan, Doug & Sean, Mike Snopkowski, Steve Martin & the Jerks, Dave Williams, Adam McKinley, and Sweet Peppers & the Long Hots.
“There was a great selection of beers, an eclectic mix of people, and awesome music,” said Sarah Smith of Wilkes-Barre.
“Hopefully they do it again next year!”
