From a press release:

Lackawanna County and ScrantonMade have partnered up to present the second annual Holiday on the Square, taking place Friday, Dec. 5 from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 6 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Courthouse Square in downtown Scranton, with over 50 participating artists and artisan vendors.

Holiday on the Square is the area’s only outdoor holiday marketplace, transforming Courthouse Square into a winter wonderland of warm lights with the annual Courthouse tree lighting. Heated tents will be filled with the area’s best local artisan vendors, live music and carolers, holiday craft workshops, and warm food and beverages.

In conjunction with the event, ScrantonMade and the Lackawanna County Visitors Bureau is sponsoring a #ShopScranton Gift Card Contest, giving shoppers the chance to win valuable gift cards to downtown businesses. For a chance to win, shoppers can pick up free entry tickets at Holiday on the Square and participating businesses.

On Friday night, HOTS will be part of Scranton’s First Friday art walk, and on Saturday, HOTS will be the centerpiece of Shop Scranton, giving away 100 goodie bags to first-come shoppers.

HOTS has partnered with downtown businesses participating in #ShopScranton to extend the festivities beyond Courthouse Square. Each business will be holding their own Saturday Open House, with complimentary treats and shopping specials. A Shop Scranton Map will be posted on the website and will be available at Holiday on the Square.
