NEPA Scene held its first-ever Open Mic Night at The Woodlands Inn in Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, Nov. 18, and while all types of artists were welcome to participate, comedians filled six of the eight available slots that evening, turning it into a fun and hilarious comedy night.

Kevin Lepka, Zack Hammond, Nick Potoeski, Checkout Joe, Russell Austin, and Dan Hoppel all brought the laughs, while Your Pal Frank and Fiddy Shades played some heartfelt original songs in between on acoustic guitar.

At the end of the night, the audience voted for the top two acts they felt were the best, and the winner, the wry and sarcastic Zack Hammond (pictured above), received $25 cash and the opening slot for the next Open Mic, which will net him another $50 in cash and a $25 gift card to Crescenzo’s Brick Oven Eatery, prizes offered every week to those who participate.

NEPA Scene photographer Robb Malloy captured many of the best moments of the night, and we encourage everyone to join us next Tuesday and every Tuesday at The Woodlands from 7 p.m.-11 p.m. to share your art, experience the talent of others, and possibly win a few bucks in the process.
