From a press release:

Get into the old-timey holiday spirit with a Victorian ornament-making workshop at the Lackawanna Historical Society on Sunday, Nov. 30 at noon at the Catlin House in Scranton.

The workshop will be led by Arlene O’Malley. Participants are asked to bring straight pins with red or white heads to make their ornaments. No glue or glitter will be involved, but reservations are required. Contact the Society at 570-344-3841 to reserve a space.

The Society will also hold its annual holiday open house on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at its headquarters, the Catlin House (232 Monroe Ave., Scranton). Wassail and sweet treats, stories, and games will be part of this old-fashioned Christmas celebration.

Brookvalley Farm from Carbondale will be on hand to offer horse-drawn carriage rides around downtown Scranton, and a local toy exhibit will be on display as well.
