Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features one dog, one cat, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food, and most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Shea

Shea is a handsome 6-7-year-old German shepherd mix. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, and house trained. He is OK with other large dogs but would rather be the only pet. He is not good with cats, small dogs, or children. Shea is very protective over his home and family. He would do best in a lower traffic home, and he takes time to warm up to new people. He is always on guard and will defend his family from anything. Once Shea warms up and trusts you, he is a big baby! He is extremely affectionate to those he has bonded with. He loves giving kisses and being pet. Shea is very active, intelligent, loyal, and alert. His favorite thing to do is tear toys apart! He would do it all day if he could! Shea is a funny and goofy boy once he knows that he can trust you. If you are looking for a strong guard dog, Shea is your boy!

Gandolph

Gandolph is a 1-year-old handsome boy. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, and litter box trained. He absolutely loves small dogs! He is very frightened by large dogs. Gandolph is good with other cats and would do better with older children. He is an extremely sweet and affectionate boy. He wants to be around people and get pet. Gandolph loves to play and run around! He is a very funny cat to watch! He would love to be in a home by this holiday season!
