From a press release:

Harmony Presents welcomes the throat-singing, slide-guitar playing one-man band Matt Lorenz as the Suitcase Junket, with his pile of homemade junk drums, to Hawley on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. in the underground theater of the Hawley Silk Mill (8 Silk Mill Dr., Hawley).

“No loops or special effects. The Suitcase Junket is just one guy making a racket with homemade foot drums, a beater guitar, a pile of songs, and a mouth. This incredible sound, spirit, and style will leave you convinced there is a full band playing along,” says Jill Carletti, managing director of Harmony Presents.

“The magic Matt Lorenz spins is potent stuff… [He] has a knack for finding poetry in unlikely places. Lorenz conjures the kinds of sounds and melodies you might hear late at night coming from a campfire in a junkyard: wild, brash and often beautiful, veering from one extreme to another,” says Mark Roessler of The Valley Advocate.

Doors are at 7:45 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available for $16 in advance and $20 at the door. They may be purchased online at silkmillharmony.com or in person at AMSkier Insurance Agency (209 Main Ave., Hawley).

Cocoon Catering Company caters wine, beer, and light snacks on site for all shows. Purchasing tickets in advance online also gets ticketholders 20 percent off their bill at Glass Wine Bar and Bistro on the day of the show.
