Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features one dog, one cat, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food, and most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Danny

My name is Danny, and I would love to find my furever home ASAP! I am just under a year old and have a whole bunch of energy. They say I’m a bullmastiff mix, whatever that means. I love other dogs, of all sizes! People watch me play and say I am a submissive boy; I guess that’s good, right?

My favorite thing in the whole world is to run and eat snow! I love playing fetch and going for walks, even though they tell me I’m not the best on the leash. I know I can change that if someone taught me the correct way! If you welcome me into your family, I promise to forever be loyal to you. I am a BFG when it comes to children! Please consider adopting me into your family; I surely would appreciate it!

Newton

Newton is a year-old Maine coon. He is very sweet and loves all people. He is going to require proper and frequent grooming. His coat will need to be brushed at least two times a week in order to keep it healthy and well-maintained. Maine coons adapt well to many lifestyles and personalities. They like being with people and love to follow them around, but are not needy. Newton is happy to receive attention, but if you’re busy, he is enjoys just supervising. He is currently in a foster home, not at the shelter, so contact us for details.
