If you’re missing the bygone days of summer camp, when your biggest worries in life were mosquitoes and sunburn, then Camp Bonfire may be the perfect summer vacation for you.

Situated at Lake Owego in the Pocono Mountains, Camp Bonfire is for adults, ages 21 and over, but all the traditional camp activities will be there – from capture the flag and canoeing to hiking and making s’mores – though campers can enjoy a few alcoholic beverages around the fire as well; a full schedule of activities can be found here. Those attending can choose whatever they want to do, but “if you want to get wasted and play flip cup all day, this isn’t the camp for you,” the website states, and they encourage people to put their technology away and just enjoy everything the counselors and camp experience will offer.

“We believe in fun and in keeping the summer camp spirit of community and play in our lives. We’re not here to fix you, cleanse you or launch you. We think you’re fantastic just the way you are. We’re here to be at summer camp, a place to relax, adventure and connect,” the site continues.

“We believe that great joy can be found in nature and each other. We’re sleeping in cabins. We’re singing in the dining hall. We’re having a dance party under the pavillion. There are creeks and paths and memories and new friendships that last a lifetime.”

It will run from Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14. According to Philadelphia Magazine, the camp was started by Philly theatre artist Benjamin Camp and poet and event producer Jacob Winterstein, who became friends at a summer camp.

Food and lodging is included in the registration price, which is only $339 for the entire weekend for those who purchase “Early Riser” tickets, which are almost sold-out. Regular price is $489. Those traveling from Philadelphia or New York City can purchase round-trip bus tickets through the camp, and limited parking passes are available for $50. For more info, visit campbonfire.com.

With everything from zip-lining to sing-alongs to archery available, summer can’t get to NEPA soon enough.
