NEPA singer/songwriter Fiddy Shades “has a pretty good, kinda hood, stage name” according to his Facebook page, so it’s appropriate then that the new song he released online today is called “Pretty Good. Kinda Hood.”

A regular performer at the NEPA Scene Open Mic Nights at The Woodlands Inn in Wilkes-Barre, Shades described the track to NEPA Scene simply as “ill,” though the catchy song, streaming below, tells a story that certainly speaks for itself:

Shades may be better known to local music fans as Jeremy Romani, the former frontman of Wilkes-Barre post-hardcore group Goodbye Soundscape, so “Pretty Good. Kinda Hood.” shows a different side of the singer. The track will be featured on an upcoming EP, though no release date has been announced yet.

Fiddy Shades can be seen next at the Your Pal Frank CD release show for “Flaws and the Things We Do to Forget” on Friday, Feb. 13 with Westpoint, Esta Coda, and Louisa at the Italian American Citizens Club (126 Oak St., Pittston). Doors are at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6.
