The Electric City Music Conference and Thirst T’s Bar & Grill in Olyphant are presenting an intimate acoustic evening with Sean Danielsen on Thursday, May 21. Danielsen is best known as the vocalist/guitarist of California alternative/hard rock band Smile Empty Soul, producing hits like “Bottom of a Bottle,” “Nowhere Kids,” and “Silhouettes.”

Danielsen will be performing those hits along with songs from his recent solo EP, “Food Chain,” released Nov. 4.

“My new EP ‘Food Chain’ was a fun project for me because there were really no rules or boundaries I had to follow. My work with Smile Empty Soul is very free as well, but it does have to stay within the lines of the traditional three-piece. With my solo stuff, I can just do whatever the song is calling for and take it to places Smile never goes,” Danielsen told Revolver magazine.

“I think this EP has a nice blend of singer/songwriter alternative and rock.”

Opening the night for Danielsen, who is also a member of World Fire Brigade, will be Opus of Dead by Wednesday, Graces Downfall, and Katie Evans.

Tickets, which are only $10, can be purchased in advance at Thirst T’s (120 Lincoln St., Olyphant) or online. Visit the event page on Facebook for more info.

Smile Empty Soul are currently planning to release a new album and tour in early 2016.
