From a press release:

Organizers for the Pocono region’s only blogging and social media conference, NEPA BlogCon, have announced that its fourth consecutive event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9:45 a.m.-4 p.m. at the East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania Hoeffner Science and Technology Center.

Having received overwhelmingly positive feedback from sold-out audiences in past years, NEPA BlogCon brings a new venue but a continuing tradition of serving the community.

“We are thrilled to host this year’s BlogCon,” said Mary Frances Postupack, vice president for economic development and research support at ESU. “ESU’s Hoeffner Science and Technology Center, which features state-of-the-art technology, is the ideal venue for a high-tech conference.

“BlogCon will also provide businesses, organizations, students, and individuals in our greater community the opportunity to be introduced to blogging techniques as another communication tool.”

NEPA BlogCon is designed to bring together bloggers of all experience levels, as well as those interested in marketing, social media, creativity, leadership, and branding. It also provides an opportunity for marketers, small business owners, nonprofit organizations, and students who would like to learn more about blogging.

NEPA BlogCon draws a wide range of local, regional, and international talent, with past speakers including radical self-love champion and top fashion blogger Gala Darling, branding expert Shenee Howard of Hey Shenee! Brand Chemistry, entrepreneur Kris Jones of KBJ Capital, and internationally acclaimed blogger and nonprofit founder Shane Burcaw of Laughing at My Nightmare.

Tickets are available for $15, and registration will open this summer at nepablogcon.com. Once again, this year’s official media partner for NEPA BlogCon is WNEP-TV, and sponsorship opportunities for businesses and community organizations are still available.

NEPA BlogCon will accept proposals for speaker presentations now through June 12. Speakers may submit their proposals for consideration on the NEPA BlogCon website.

Last year, NEPA BlogCon drew more than 150 local bloggers, technology influencers, students, and marketing professionals to Northeastern Pennsylvania, raising thousands of dollars to benefit the founding of Squirrel Girls Tech Camp, a technology camp for girls in grades 4-6 that will launch in July 2015 at Lackawanna College.

NEPA BlogCon is unique in that all proceeds benefit nonprofit and community education projects. It is organized by volunteers and could not be held without the support of sponsors, local businesses, attendees, and community leaders.

Since the event originated in 2012, the amount raised for charity totals more than $7,500, with beneficiaries including Blue Chip Farms Animal Refuge, NEPA Veterans Multicare Alliance, and The Arc of Luzerne County.

All proceeds from this year’s conference will again be applied to Squirrel Girls Tech Camp.

Like NEPA BlogCon, the STEM education camp will be held in collaboration with sponsor organization TecBridge, a regional collegial organization that collaboratively strives to create and embrace entrepreneurial opportunities with the purpose of growing technology and biotechnology wealth within Northeastern Pennsylvania.

With easy accessibility and a convenient location in the Pocono Mountains, East Stroudsburg University is approximately one-quarter mile from East Stroudsburg exit 308 off I-80, within easy reach of major highway systems in the tri-state region.
