Clarks Summit guitarist Jason Vo, one of the weekly audience vote winners at NEPA Scene’s Got Talent, is organizing a new acoustic music showcase at Duffy’s Coffee House that shows just how broad the word “acoustic” can be.

“No Cover, No Excuses!” will run from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. on Friday, July 3, featuring eight local acts, including Vo and other NEPA Scene’s Got Talent winners, that each offer different styles and sounds. As the name implies, the event at Duffy’s (312 S. State St., Clarks Summit) is free and will finish up just before the scheduled Independence Day fireworks displays in both Scranton and Clarks Summit.

The schedule is as follows:

4 p.m.: Bare Bones Acoustic Trio
4:30 p.m.: Billy Baer (fingerstylist, finger/songwriter)
5 p.m.: Jimmy Johnson (singer/songwriter)
5:30 p.m.: Jason Vo (percussive finger stylist)
6 p.m.: Skip Monday (indie duo)
6:30 p.m.: Patrick Fiore (singer/songwriter)
7 p.m.: Jenn Johnson (pianist/singer/songwriter)
7:30 p.m.: Adam Bailey (singer/songwriter with loop station)

Vo hopes to turn “No Cover, No Excuses!” into an ongoing series, possibly at various venues around Northeastern Pennsylvania.
