Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features one dog, one cat, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food, and most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Vanilla

“Because you know I’m all about that bass
‘Bout that bass, no treble.”

OK, so I might be stronger and more muscular than most, but I promise I am no treble! I hope the lyrics of this song AND my face are stuck in your head.

My name is Vanilla, and I am no longer just a breeding machine. I am 2 1/2 years old and am good with children; I was even friends with a ferret. I’m not a fan of other female dogs but can tolerate males. I prefer to be your one and only. In return, I promise to give warm, wet, and sloppy kisses and will protect my human family and loved ones.

I am not a dog for a first-time dog owner, as I need to know what is expected of me: rules to follow and limits to what I am and am not allowed to do.

Batman

“Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Batman!”

Batman is 7 weeks old and will soon be looking for a home to call his own. He’s the kitten Gotham deserves and the one you need right now. If interested in the little Dark Knight, please call 570-333-5265.
