Quinn will tour with Candlebox starting next week

From a press release:

Things are heating up for Pittston native Brian Quinn this summer as the nationally touring guitarist officially joined two bands in one day. Quinn, who just finished an East Coast tour with Michael Allman (the son of the legendary Gregg Allman), was added to the lineups of Candlebox and Le Projet last week.

Le Projet, the rock band comprised of Kevin Martin and Adam Kury of Candlebox, Morgan Rose of Sevendust, and Lenny Cerzosie of The Infinite Staircase, is currently working on their soon-to-be-released debut album and recently invited Quinn to join them in the studio to record.

Adding Quinn to the group was an easy decision, according to Candlebox lead singer Kevin Martin, as he and Quinn had already performed and toured together as labelmates on a Warner Brothers subsidiary label. Quinn, the founding member and guitarist of Fosterchild, has over 20 years of professional experience playing and recording with multiple national artists.

“When I first met Brian, I remember saying to him, ‘If I ever start another side project or any other musical venture, you’re the first person I’m calling to find me a guitar player! After the laughter died down, I told him that we’d definitely be working together someday soon,” said Martin.

“That was three or four years ago but, as they say, patience is a virtue. I’m stoked to have him jamming with Le Projet; he’s a brilliant guitarist with a bitchin’ axe!”

Watch Quinn perform solo below:

To date, Le Projet has released four singles – “Head Down,” “Little Shits,” “Save Yourself,” and “Refugee” – that are available at all major online retailers, including iTunes. The band is preparing to debut its latest single in late July.

Quinn, who currently lives in Philadelphia, has also been added to the Candlebox lineup after the band amicably parted ways with longtime members Peter Klett and Scott Mercado. He will serve as the lead guitar player for the band’s summer and fall tour, which kicks off July 23 in Louisiana to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the group’s successful sophomore album, “Lucy.”

Klett and Mercado have decided to devote their careers full-time to Lotus Crush and their other side projects.

“I’m stoked that Pete and Scott are having such great success with Lotus Crush and their other projects. I wish them nothing but the best,” Martin added.

Candlebox, the multi-platinum-selling post-grunge band from Seattle best known for songs like “Change,” “You,” “Far Behind,” “Cover Me,” “Simple Lessons,” “Understanding,” and “Best Friend,” continues with Martin, guitarists Mike Leslie and Quinn, Adam Kury on bass, and drummer Dave Krusen, who played with Candlebox in the late ’90s and was a member of Pearl Jam, notably on their iconic album “Ten.”

Candlebox is currently hard at work on their new album, which is set for an early 2016 release. More details on the album and additional tour dates will be coming soon.
