From a press release:

You can call him the Joker or Space Cowboy. Maybe call him Maurice, or even call him the Gangster of Love. Everybody knows that Steve Miller speaks the pompatus of love.

One of rock music’s all-time greats, the Steve Miller Band, has sold more than 60 million records in a career spanning more than 40 years. His trademark blues-rock sound made him one of the key artists in classic rock radio.

Formed as a blues band in the heyday of the psychedelic scene, Miller was, is, and will be the guitarist and lead vocalist for the band he calls his own. While the band lists a who’s who of members over the years, many of whom have found success outside the Miller band, he has always been the constant driving force behind the music.

The group will perform at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. Tickets, which are $69.50-$95, go on sale this Friday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at sandseventcenter.com, the Event Center box office, ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, or by phone at 800-745-3000.

The Steve Miller Band first found some commercial success with “The Joker,” but a few years later, the back-to-back releases of “Fly Like an Eagle” and “Book of Dreams” helped the group reach the top echelons of the album charts and spawned a lengthy series of hit singles, cementing their status as a classic American rock band.

On the heels of this massive success, Miller and the band took a long hiatus from recording and touring, emerging in the early ‘80s with another hit album, “Abracadabra.”

While this was their last great commercial success, a series of collections, live albums, and attempts to find new styles have appeared in later years. Most recently, they released “Bingo!,” an album of blues covers.

Miller’s broad appeal crosses boundaries, from headlining the 2011 opening of the new $2.5 million TV home of “Austin City Limits” to collaborating with country superstar Kenny Chesney on the Country Music Television special “Crossroads.”

The group has been releasing albums and singles since 1968 and currently has released 18 studio albums, six live albums, seven (official) compilation albums, and at least 29 singles.

The Steve Miller Band continues to tour and delight audiences all over the world, performing the hits “Fly Like an Eagle,” “The Joker,” “Rock’n Me,” “Take the Money and Run,” “Jungle Love,” “Swingtown,” “Jet Airliner,” and “Wild Mountain Honey,” just to name a few.
