From a press release:

Those looking to get out of the cold can warm up with some laughs at the January Jokerz Comedy Show, presented by Laugh Out Lepka’s Comedy on Friday, Jan. 15 at Tequila Mexican Bar & Grill (320 Penn Ave., Scranton). Seating is at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Headlining the show will be Aldo Marachlian, who has appeared on Comedy Central, Fox, and Bravo. Local comedian Matt Serniak will be hosting, and Ty Raney and Rey Gibbs will also perform, along with 16-year-old magician Ben Knox.

Tickets, which are $15 in advance or $20 at the door, can be purchased via Eventbrite.

Aldo Marachlian was born in Uruguay to Armenian and Italian parents. He is from Queens, New York and, growing up, his goal was to be featured on TV doing what he loves – stand-up comedy.

Then one day, producer Walter Latham heard him and said, “I want Aldo to be part of my next project, ‘Comedy After Dark,'” which opened many new doors for Marachlian. His act aired on Comedy Central and was viewed by millions. He accomplished his dream and continues to perform and outshine.

His style of comedy is considered “politely offensive,” with Latham describing him as “an edgier version of Ray Romano.”

Making appearances on “The Millionaire Matchmaker” and reality TV star Bethenny Frankel’s show, his most recent accomplishment was being featured on the No. 1 Latin radio show on Univision, “The Luis Jimenez Show.” He opened for Luis Jimenez live in Carolines on Broadway in New York and the House of Blues in Orlando, leading him to perform nationally in English and in Spanish.

Marachlian was awarded the 2014 Westchester Comedy Festival Crowd Favorite and recently returned from headlining shows in Los Angeles and Vegas.
