From a press release:

It was announced today that Just for Laughs’ 2016 “Stand Up Comedian of the Year,” Sebastian Maniscalco, will bring his “Why Would You Do That? Tour” to the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.

Tickets, which are $42.75, $62.75, and $253 (VIP with meet and greet, available online only), go on sale this Friday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at the Kirby Center box office (71 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre), online at kirbycenter.org, and by phone at 570-826-1100. A Kirby Member pre-sale begins Thursday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m.

The “Why Would You Do That? Tour” will contribute to the Tag You’re It! Foundation, Maniscalco’s own charity, by donating $1 for every ticket sold. The foundation, set up through the California Community Foundation, strives to support research in Alzheimer’s disease, children’s education, and the U.S. military.

Maniscalco will return to Showtime this fall with his wildly popular “own kind of panache” (New York Times) in “Sebastian Maniscalco: Why Would You Do That?,” beginning Oct. 1 at 10 p.m. on-air, online, on demand, and over the Internet. Maniscalco is the star and executive producer of the special, directed by Joe Demaio, which was filmed at Beacon Theatre during one of his seven sold-out shows of the year. The Manhattan show serves as the setting for Maniscalco to deliver his unique brand of physical and quick-witted observational comedy in a new hour of highly anticipated skepticism, all while asking, “Why Would You Do That?”

“Coming up in this business over the years has taught me to look for folks that are in it for the same reasons I am,” said Maniscalco. “I knew we had found a great partner in Showtime on my last special, and I am happy we are continuing that relationship. Through their platform, I’ve been able to expose my stand-up to a broader audience and am looking forward to continuing to ask the hard questions, like, ‘Why would you do that?’”

Maniscalco is one of comedy’s fastest rising new stars. Born and raised in a working-class Chicago neighborhood, he moved to Los Angeles in 1998 to pursue his comedy career. There, he employed the work ethic his father instilled in him to build his name – simultaneously working as a waiter at the Four Seasons Hotel – and eventually drew the attention of actor Vince Vaughn, who cast him in “Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show.” Maniscalco also stars in his own wildly popular “The Pete and Sebastian Show” podcast every Friday night. Maniscalco can be seen in the 2016 season of Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” as well as in the upcoming feature films “The House,” starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler; “Cruise,” directed by Rob Siegel and produced by Jeremy Renner; and the animated feature “The Nut Job 2.”

From Levity Productions, “Sebastian Maniscalco: Why Would You Do That?” is executive produced by Maniscalco, Judi Brown Marmel and Stu Schreiberg, Steve Mazzilli, and Chris Mazzilli.
