From a press release:

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders Triple-A minor league baseball team and New York Yankees affiliate has announced the initial highlights of their 2017 promotional schedule at PNC Field in Moosic. The campaign will sport the return of Glow-in-the-Park Fridays, with this year’s edition sporting black-out jerseys for home Friday games only.

Other returning promotions include Dollar Dog Mondays for all of 2017’s five Monday home dates. Two-Dollar Tuesdays return with $2 lawn tickets and $2 concession specials.

“Every year, our staff continues to build off the previous year’s success and places the bar a bit higher than before,” said RailRiders team president Josh Olerud. “This season, they have made PNC Field the ‘Place to Be’ with more promotions, events, and entertainment than any other season.”

The wildly successful Legends Series will continue and pay tribute to three legendary SWB franchise members by enshrining them in PNC Field (235 Montage Mountain Rd., Moosic) with life-size bobbleheads that will be displayed proudly in the PNC Field entrance plaza for fans to see year round.

A number of popular theme nights will also be back by popular demand:

  • Star Wars Night (June 23)
  • Man Vs. Marathon (June 23) (Star Wars-themed)
  • Princess & Pirate Night (July 21)
  • Military Appreciation Night (July 22)
  • Mystery Bobblehead Night (August 4)
  • First 1,000 fans receive a bobblehead from somewhere in the world of sports (NHL, MiLB, NBA, MLB, etc.)
  • Superhero Night (August 18)

New promotions for 2017 include the addition of three Bark-in-the-Park games. Since there are just five Dollar Dog Monday dates, the team has added these three to welcome even more four-legged friends.

Sizzling new theme nights include Wrestling Night (featuring a visit from a former wrestling star), What’s Better Than Bacon? Night, and Who’s on First?/Baseball Heritage Day. Other fun and new nights include:

  • Sunday Baby Bomber Caps with brand new logo worn each Sunday game at PNC Field
  • Digicam Alternate Uniforms
  • Wine and Dine Wednesdays/Ladies Night
  • Wine specials and pre-game tastings along with beer and concession specials

Of course, no promotional slate would be complete without the staples of explosions in the sky and bobbleheads. The 2017 season will have 14 fireworks nights, including opening day and the national championship. The July 18 fireworks show, a Kosher Kaboom, will celebrate Jewish heritage and a special Tuesday Night fireworks spectacular. The stadium will have kosher food available and more before a special fireworks show.

There will be five exclusive bobblehead giveaways over the course of the season, and Champ’s Kids’ Club will be renamed the Baby Bombers Kids’ Club.

The season comes to a close with the prestigious 2017 Gildan Triple-A National Championship game at PNC Field on Sept. 19. The glorious close to the minor league campaign will have the International League champions face the Pacific Coast League winners in the very game that crowned the RailRiders the best of the best in 2016.

The 2016 Gildan Triple-A National Champion RailRiders open their 2017 home schedule on Monday, April 10 against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Philadelphia Phillies). For tickets or more information, call 570-969-BALL (2255) or visit swbrailriders.com.
