Bart and Urby’s is a longtime supporter of the arts in Wilkes-Barre, hosting musicians and artists in both its bar/restaurant side and The Other Side next door. Owner Brian Urbanas is currently seeking local artists to “Fill the Wall with Art ‘n’ Love,” displaying the work there for the next few months and giving 100 percent of the cash back to the artists if sold.

“After watching the news, I wanted to give a positive outlet for local artists to promote them and their art,” Urbanas said. “It just felt right.”

The deadline to submit is Wednesday, Feb. 22. Interested artists can contact Urbanas via Bart and Urby’s Facebook page.

The artwork will premiere on Friday, Feb. 24, the night that Jake Clarke of Doylestown grunge rockers Superheaven and Wilkes-Barre dream punk band Spur play a release show for their new split LP with Rich People and Beach Bod, starting at 7 p.m. Vocalist/guitarist John Smith from Underground Saints will also be performing an acoustic set on the Bart and Urby’s side.
