From a press release:

It was announced today that the fourth annual Electric City Music Conference will return to Scranton this September, taking place Thursday, Sept. 14 through Saturday, Sept. 16.

The event will again feature a multi-venue music festival, conferences and panels with music industry professionals, and the Steamtown Music Awards.

Applications to play the 2017 Electric City Music Conference are now open. Local bands from Northeastern Pennsylvania can apply at electriccitymusicconference.com, while regional and national bands can apply via Sonicbids beginning Sept. 24.

Lucas Hex (formerly Drew Breeze), The Sellout Soundtrack, DJ Hersh, Behind the Grey, Alma Mater, The Aegean, uMan Era, Tony Halchak, Permanence, and Moral Code are the first acts announced for this year’s event.

The theme for the 2017 ECMC is “Education, Performance and Acknowledgment.” Organizers will again provide educational conferences, a multi-venue music festival, and honor the local music scene through the Steamtown Music Awards.

Nominations for the Steamtown Music Awards will open on March 1.

The conference is now seeking partners and sponsors at all levels. Those interested can contact the organizers at electriccitymusicconference@gmail.com.
