Local ‘celebrity’ couples dance for charity at Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre on April 6

The F.M. Kirby Center and Downtown Arts have announced “10 Years of Excellence – A Celebration of the Dance Theatre of Wilkes-Barre” at the Kirby Center on Thursday, April 6 at 7 p.m. The event will feature 10 local “celebrity” couples dancing for charity with special guest emcee Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski.

Tickets, which are $20 in advance or $25 the day of the show, plus fees, go on sale this Friday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. and will be available through the Kirby Center box office (71 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre) or by phone at 570-826-1100.

For the past 10 years, Downtown Arts has opened its doors to more than 200 individuals offering artistic programming for both children and adults alike. This unique community arts center in downtown Wilkes-Barre provides creative work space to many local artists. The Downtown Arts facility also hosts more than 30 live public performances and artist exhibits in this historic 140 year old building, the former First Methodist Church.

Participants include the Cast of the Kirby Crew, Dr. Tony and Danielle Bruno, Rachel Pugh and Damien Blanchard, Dr. Shawn and Michelle Casey, Cassandra and Jim Corcoran, Mitch and Taly Kornfeld, Bridget and Steve Husted, Dr. Harvey and Kathy Reiser, Dr. Glen and Cari Tellis, and Leo and Gina Malsky.
