From a press release:

Dunmore-based mobile app developer Cory Wolff has announced the launch of the Android and iOS app Gathering, a new way to schedule, plan, and pay for get-togethers with friends and family. Through the app, users can create and share “Gatherings” to help organize group trips, family reunions, vacations, and more.

The app will be free for life for anyone that signs up to be a beta user. Users can sign up now on gatheringapp.co.

Highlights of the app include:

1. The organizer of a gathering can pick up to five dates and times for the participants to vote on. Once all participants vote, a date can be declared the winner.

2. When users create a gathering, they can search for the place and Gathering will automatically look up all information about its location, contact info, website, and more.

3. The organizer can list the expenses of the Gathering and show a breakdown of what everything costs. The app will automatically show each participant what they owe and give them the option to pay their portion to the organizer using PayPal, Venmo, Facebook Messenger, or cash/check.

“I initially thought of the app when I was trying to get my brothers together for a ski trip to Vermont. As you can imagine, it can be a real headache trying to get us all together in one place. Dates never match up or people get tired of keeping track of money and who’s doing what,” Wolff explained.

The beta version of Gathering is due out in late April with an official release date to be announced in the coming weeks.

A detailed video overview of the app can be found on the official website.
