SHELTER SUNDAY: Meet Axel (Anatolian shepherd) and Ralphie (Russian blue mix)
Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.
Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Axel is a 7-month-old Anatolian shepherd, a really rare breed. He will be around 150 pounds when full grown.
He is a very intelligent, strong-minded dog and has a dominating personality. He needs a firm owner and strict training to know what is right from wrong. Axel needs to be in an adult-only home (no children under 15). His breed is protective of their families. He loves his people – strangers, not so much.
He is great with most other dogs; they bring out his puppy side!

Ralphie is a 6-month-old Russian blue mix who is up-to-date on his shots and feline testing.
Ralphie is so full of personality! He is sweet, very social, and loves to play with anything he can chase and jump with.
