Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Axel

Axel is an 8-month-old Anatolian shepherd, a really rare breed. He will be around 150 pounds when full grown.

He is a very intelligent, strong-minded dog and has a dominating personality. He needs a firm owner and strict training to know what is right from wrong. Axel needs to be in an adult-only home (no children under 15). His breed is protective of their families. He loves his people – strangers, not so much.

He is great with most other dogs; they bring out his puppy side!

Come meet this 100-pound baby!

Paige and Piper

Meet Paige and Piper. These bonded sisters are beautiful 7-month-old Torties. They are spayed and up-to-date on their shots and feline testing.

Social and very curious, these playful and loving cuties would be a great addition to any home.

If you would like to adopt them, please note that all kittens are kept in foster homes, not on the Blue Chip campus, so call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
