10 years in, Scranton metal band Motionless In White are as fan-driven as ever, putting them in their music videos, interacting with them at workshops at the Vans Warped Tour last year, and asking them design the cover of their new album. With the song “570,” it’s clear that they haven’t forgotten where they came from either, so it’s no surprise that they’re returning to their hometown area for a meet and greet just days after their latest album, “Graveyard Shift,” hits shelves.

As they did on a rainy day back in 2014, MIW will be signing autographs at Gallery of Sound in Wilkes-Barre on Monday, May 8 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. It is a free event, but to receive a wristband to guarantee priority entry, “creatures” (as they call their fans) must purchase “Graveyard Shift” from any of the three Gallery of Sound locations from its release date, which is this Friday, May 5, through May 8. Limited edition posters will be on hand at the store (186 Mundy St., Wilkes-Barre) for the band to sign. For more details, visit the Facebook event page.

“Graveyard Shift” is their debut on Roadrunner Records, fulfilling a longtime dream of frontman Chris Motionless to be on the label that influenced him so much. Songs from the record, like “570,” “Eternally Yours,” “Loud (Fuck It),” and most recently “Rats” (streaming below) have already come out, giving fans a good idea of what to expect as MIW’s sound continues to evolve.

After touring with Los Angeles alternative metal band In This Moment on their Half God, Half Devil Tour, which stopped at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg on April 22, MIW will hit the road with fellow metal acts Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat on The Stage World Tour, which comes to the Giant Center in Hershey on Tuesday, May 9 and may be one of the last times to see them locally this year.

With their music being featured in WWE events like NXT TakeOver: Orlando, adding Korn singer Jonathan Davis as a guest vocalist on the new track “Necessary Evil,” and their profile raised even higher by signing to Roadrunner, they’re busier and more famous than ever, but it seems they always have time for a stop where it all began in Northeastern Pennsylvania, no matter how brief.
