Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Harpo and Chico

Harpo and Chico are 1-year-old brothers who are around 45 pounds each, neutered, up-to-date on their shots, and mostly house-trained.

They traveled here from Puerto Rico and are loving life. They were rescued together in January after months of roaming the streets while they were just puppies. They have been with their rescuers ever since.

These bonded brothers need a family who wants nothing but love and laughter. Harpo and Chico are perfect for each other, as one is energetic and one just wants to cuddle. They love going for walks and running around in the park. They get along well with other dogs and are wonderful with children.

These sweet boys only have one adoption fee since we are requiring them to go together, so come and meet our beautiful boys and make them your own!

Drake

Drake is a 10-week-old kitten who has been through a lot already, but he’s strong, healthy, and ready for a loving home.

He was found at a young age very sick but trying to survive on his own. A determined little youngster, Drake took his meds, ate his food, and put up with a bath, so now he is 100 percent fine. He is a happy, loving polydactyl with extra toes on his big cute paws.

If you would like to adopt Drake, please note that all kittens are kept in foster homes, not on the Blue Chip campus, so call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
