From a press release:

Do you think you can eat more Middleswarth potato chips than anyone you know? Have you ever finished a Weekender bag in a day and wondered how you could put that talent to work? Now is your time to shine!

Wilkes-Barre food distributor Northeast Snacks has announced the third annual Middleswarth Potato Chip Eating Contest, which will be held once again at Sabatini’s Bottleshop & Bar (1901 Wyoming Ave., Exeter) on Saturday, Nov. 25.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m., and the all-ages, family-friendly event will take place at 11 a.m.

Contest participants, who must be 18 or older, will be challenged to eat the most amount of chips by weight in five minutes and can choose to scarf down BBQ or plain chips.

The winner will receive an official Chip Champ trophy, a $25 Northeast Snacks gift certificate, and the ultimate local bragging rights as the King or Queen of Chips.

The cost is $20 per entry, which includes chips and a limited edition t-shirt. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Camp Koala, which provides grieving children and teens with the tools and resources to help them manage their grief in a healthy way and offers companionship in a supportive environment.

Entries will be available for purchase at nepasnacks.com starting this Friday, Sept. 15. These tickets are limited and are likely to sell out quickly.
