From a press release:

The Gaslight Theatre Company brings good tidings of great joy, presenting live performances of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” by Charles M. Shulz at its theater at the East End Centre in Wilkes-Barre on Friday, Dec. 1 through Saturday, Dec. 9.

There’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than with this Christmas classic. Presented as a live, verbatim recreation of the television special from Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” follows Charlie as he attempts to overcome the materialism of the holiday season by directing a Christmas pageant. As his efforts to restore the proper holiday spirit with a forlorn little Christmas fir tree fail, he turns to his best friend Linus to discover the real meaning of Christmas. This show is perfect for adults who’ve grown up with the movie and children who are discovering it for the first time.

As part of the show, Gaslight Theatre will also transform their lobby at the East End Centre (200 East End Centre, Heinz Rd., Wilkes-Barre) into Pinetree Corners, a name which pays homage to another Peanuts comic strip. This family-friendly experience includes free holiday crafts, goodie bags, and pictures with Santa Claus. Pinetree Corners will be open one hour prior to curtain of all performances. Hot chocolate, baked goods, and other concessions will also be on sale.

Directed by Tim McDermott, the cast features Keith Novack as Charlie, Héctor González as Linus, Kimmie Leff as Snoopy, Mandy Pennington as Lucy, Mollie Dooley as Sally, Amanda Kotch as Frieda, Eric Lutz as Pig Pen, Jonathan J. Wallace as Schroeder, Lindsey Matylewicz as Patty, Alicia Nordstrom as Violet, and Mike Wawrzynek as Shermy.

Performances will also feature the live jazz trio of Doug Delescavage, Ian O’Hara, and Rob Burns.

Tickets, which are $15 for general entry and $10 for children under 12, are on sale now and can be purchased online via Ticketfly or at the door. Seating is general admission and limited, so advance purchases are highly recommended. For more information, call 570-266-8565 or visit gaslight-theatre.org.
