Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Ginger

Ginger is a whippet mix who is estimated to be around 2 years old.

When she was first brought in as a stray, she was very nervous and fearful of people. She is beginning to warm up to all the volunteers and even lets a few walk and play outside with her.

Although she is still nervous and skittish, she warms up quickly if you have some treats to offer her and gives nothing but loyalty and love in return. She needs an owner who will show her how to trust again and will give her time to adjust to her new life, allowing her true personality to come through.

Ginger would do best in a home with older or no children due to her fearfulness. She seems to be scared of other dogs; we have yet to introduce her to one, as she needs to warm up to more humans first. With a proper introduction and some time, she would probably be fine with another dog similar in size to her.

Come and see if you can win this sweet girl’s heart – she needs to be loved!

Arthur

Arthur is a 1-year-old domestic medium hair mix who is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations.

He is friendly and likes people, especially if they like to play as much as him. Arthur is easygoing and ready for a home to call his own.

If you’re interested in adopting this handsome guy, please note that all kittens are kept in foster homes, not on the Blue Chip campus, so call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
