After taking a year off last year, Stone Brewing has released its 2018 batch of Stone Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout. With its “fluffy chocolate head and tastes of deeply dark fruit flavors with rich chocolate and coffee overtones,” adding “flaked oats for a smooth mouthfeel and Belma hops, which round out the dark fruit component, providing an ever-so-slight hop edge,” will it be a strong leader or crumble under the weight of its powerful name?
