Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Trouble

Trouble is a 4-year-old Giant Schnauzer/Labrador/basset hound mix.

This “low rider” is a happy, loving dog who needs a home where he can be the king of the house. He likes other dogs and will play with them. He is OK with kids, but sometimes he gets nervous around little ones and can knock them down with his size and wiggly butt.

Come out to meet him and cause a little Trouble!

Sherlock

Sherlock is a 3-year-old handsome, black-and-white tuxedo cat who is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations.

He is a little shy at first, but as soon as he gets comfortable, he’ll be following you around. Sherlock gets along with other cats but not dogs, and he can be a real snugglebug.

Sherlock is full of love, head bumps, and conversations; he’s smart and will make a great companion.

If you’d like to investigate further, Sherlock is in a foster home and not at the shelter, so fill out an application at bcfanimalrefuge.org and call 570-333-5265 to arrange a meet and greet.
