Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Bo

Bo is a 2-year-old coonhound who has been at the shelter for way too long.

This handsome boy is a volunteer favorite, always making them laugh and smile. He has a huge personality and constantly wants to please his humans. He has a loud mouth and lots of love to give.

Bo loves being outside and running around, going for walks, and playing at the park. This goofy guy is a sweet as can be and needs a family who understands him. He is a wonderful dog with a slight case of separation anxiety. He needs someone who is home more often than not or who is willing to work with him on this issue. He should not live in an apartment, as he howls for a little while when he’s alone.

Bo requires a home where he can be told right from wrong (as he still has puppy moments), a yard to run in, and no young children (due to his size and goofiness). He already knows sit and paw and even sits calmly for baths. He gets along with most other pups and probably shouldn’t be in a home with cats.

He may do better in a home with another dog due to his separation anxiety; he made friends with another coonhound at the shelter and they love playing together.

A meet and greet at the shelter is required to adopt Bo, so come and see him! He loves people and would be thrilled to meet you!

Carmella

Carmella is a 5-year-old tabby cat with beautiful white and brown hair with stripes.

She is a little shy, but once she warms up to you, she will be your best friend.

Carmella is patiently waiting for her forever home. Is that your home?

If you’re interested in adopting this pretty girl, please fill out an adoption application at bcfanimalrefuge.org and call 570-333-5265 to arrange a meet and greet.
