Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Owen

Owen is a 1-year-old American bulldog who is so ready for a loving family of his own!

He was found as a stray, covered in cuts and scars. His previous home wasn’t too kind to him, yet he still loves everyone he meets. He gets along with other dogs too and hasn’t been tested with cats yet. He would do best around older kids due to his size and excited wiggly butt.

Owen is extremely playful and loves squeaky toys. He enjoys going for walks, car rides, playing with fluffy toys, and snuggling. He is a couch potato most of the time, with some energetic moments.

This sweetheart is a talker too – he howls when you howl to him and will talk when you give him a good butt rub.

Come and meet this fun guy!

Mouse

We have a Mouse in the house! Mouse is an adult black-and-white tuxedo cat who is spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations. She marches to the beat of her own drum.

She loves to look out windows and is very interested in what’s going on. Mouse loves her ears rubbed and enjoys a good conversation with humans.

Mouse is very sweet and would do best as the only pet in a quiet environment with no small children.

If you are interested in adopting this little lady, please note that she is living in a foster home, not on the Blue Chip campus, so call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
