On Sunday, Oct. 5, author Paolo Battaglia will give a presentation on his new book, “Explorers, Emigrants, Citizens: A Visual History of the Italian American Experience from the Collections of the Library of Congress” at the Lackawanna Historical Society’s Catlin House (232 Monroe Ave., Scranton).

The program, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 2 p.m.

Battaglia is an Italian native who is interested in the Italian experience in small towns. He will give a presentation on his latest book, a narrated photo history of the Italian experience in America from Columbus to the present.

Battaglia is also interested in meeting with members of the local Italian community for a future project, “Italian American Country.” Join him to learn more about the Italian immigrant experience and share your stories.
