‘Teenagers from Outer Space’ invade the Scranton Cultural Center

This month’s installment of “Bad Movie Thursdays with Mystery Science Theater 3000” at the Scranton Cultural Center features a terrible but zany little sci-fi confection from 1959 called “Teenagers from Outer Space.”

When aliens who arrive on Earth with a plan to conquer the planet, hunky teen alien Derek rebels against his mission, even though his commander warns him that he might be sentenced to “TORCHAAA!”

The screening of this episode of the cult TV series will take place on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple (420 N. Washington Ave., Scranton).

The event will again be hosted by NEPA resident Christopher “Sampo” Cornell, co-maintainer of the Satellite News fan website, who will share trivia about the film and “MST3K.”

Show tickets are $10 and doors will open at 6 p.m. A cash bar and light fare will be available for purchase.
