From a press release:

The weather outside may have become frightful, but the action inside the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza this holiday season is sure to be delightful.

The event schedule at Mohegan Sun Arena (255 Highland Park Blvd., Wilkes-Barre) this holiday season will feature 15 event performances from Nov. 28-Jan. 2, providing residents in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania the opportunity to spend some quality time with family and friends while enjoying some of their favorite events.

The action unofficially got under way this past Friday morning, as tickets for the two-time reigning CMA Vocal Duo of the Year Florida Georgia Line sold out in less than fifteen minutes. The sellout was one of the fastest in the venue’s 15+ year history. The Florida Georgia Line Anything Goes Tour featuring openers Thomas Rhett and Frankie Ballard will be at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, May 3.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra brings their all-new show entitled “The Christmas Attic” for two performances at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 28th. This marks the 14th consecutive holiday season for Trans-Siberian Orchestra at Mohegan Sun Arena. “The Christmas Attic” is the only rock opera from the trilogy that has never been seen live, and some of the songs from this album have never been played live. The second half of the show will feature TSO iconic classics and fan favorites, such as “Wizards in Winter,” “Requiem” and “Christmas Eve/ Sarajevo 12/24.” $1 from every ticket purchase will be donated to Candy’s Place in Forty Fort, which provides support to cancer patients.

The legendary James Taylor will perform with his All-Star Band on Monday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. As a recording and touring artist, Taylor has touched people with his warm baritone voice and distinctive style of guitar-playing for more than 40 years, while setting a precedent to which countless young musicians have aspired. Over the course of his celebrated songwriting and performing career, Taylor has sold more than 100 million albums, earning gold, platinum, and multi-platinum awards for classics ranging from “Sweet Baby James” in 1970 to “October Road” in 2002. He has won multiple Grammy awards and has been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The arena will open its doors for public ice skating for the 11th Annual Toys for Tots Open Skate on Tuesday, Dec. 9th from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. in support of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Anyone bringing an unwrapped toy or making a $5 contribution to Toys for Tots is permitted to skate. Guests must bring their own skates or rent them the day before the event at the Toyota SportsPlex (38 Coal St., Wilkes-Barre). This is the only day throughout the year that the venue is open to the general public for ice skating.

On Saturday, Dec. 20, Mohegan Sun Arena will host its first hip-hop concert since Lil Wayne in 2008. “Jingle Bells 2014” presented by Black’N Out Entertainment and Lugo Life Productions will feature hip-hop/rap artists Fabolous, Fat Joe, Lil’ Durk, Bobby Shmurda, Audrey Rose, DJ Suss One, and hosted by Alexandra Estevez. Partial proceeds from the event will be donated to the local U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program.

The holiday season is also a great time to catch the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in action, as the Pens will be home for 10 games between Nov. 29 and Jan. 2. During that stretch, the Penguins will play host to some of their biggest rivals, including three games (Dec. 6, 14, and 31) against the Hershey Bears and one game against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Dec. 5. Tickets start as low as $18. For a complete listing of games and offers during the holiday season, visit wbspenguins.com.

After the holidays, Mohegan Sun Arena will play host to some of the biggest names in family entertainment, including Disney on Ice presents Worlds of Fantasy (Jan. 14-19), AMSOIL Arenacross (Feb. 6-8), the Harlem Globetrotters (Feb. 22), and Monster Jam (Feb. 27-March 1).
