After a few weeks off, the NEPA Scene Open Mic Night returned to the The Woodlands Inn in Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, Dec. 16, featuring the most diverse lineup of talents yet.
Your Pal Frank and Fiddy Shades provided songs on acoustic guitar, while three poets new to this open mic, The Carlton, Gabbie, and Amy, shared their work, marking the first time poets have graced the stage.
Joining returning comedians Checkout Joe, Zack Hammond, Delmer Von W, and Russell Austin were funnymen Matt Serniak and Elliott Elliott, with Elliott (pictured above) winning the audience vote that night. He received $25 cash that night and the headlining slot for the next Open Mic, along with another $25 in cash and a $25 gift card to Crescenzo’s Brick Oven Eatery for headlining, prizes offered every week to those who receive the most votes. Headliner Dan Hoppel finished off the night with his signature brand of self-deprecating comedy, as he was voted the winner the last time.
NEPA Scene photographer Robb Malloy returned to take photos throughout the night. For photos from the previous NEPA Scene Open Mic, click here.
Join us next Tuesday and every Tuesday at The Woodlands from 6:30 p.m.-11 p.m. and bring your songs, jokes, poetry, magic tricks, stories, or whatever your talent is for a chance to be seen, heard, and appreciated.
