Lackawanna Historical Society sponsors one-act play ‘A Closed Mouth – A Wise Head’ on Feb. 1

The Lackawanna Historical Society will sponsor an original one-act play entitled “A Closed Mouth – A Wise Head” on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. at the Rossetti home (1005 Vine St., Scranton).

Join master storyteller Robert Hughes for a dramatic reading of a true-to-life death bed teaser. The performance will also feature a guest appearance by noted soprano Eileen Hanisch.

Light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $10 and are available at the Lackawanna Historical Society or by calling 570-344-3841.

In other Historical Society news, Leadership Lackawanna is sponsoring a Quizzo night at the Backyard Ale House (523 Linden St., Scranton) on Thursday, Jan. 29 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. to benefit the Society. A $10 donation at the door includes two drink vouchers and drink specials. Registration for Quizzo games will be from 6:30 p.m.-7 p.m., and games will feature local history questions.
