VIDEO: Teaser trailer for ‘Fantastic Four’ shows darker, re-imagined take on classic heroes
After years of rumors and speculation without so much as an official image from the movie, the promotion for the 2015 “Fantastic Four” reboot has finally begun with an official teaser trailer released by Fox today.
Directed by Josh Trank, famous for his breakout “found footage” superhero film “Chronicle,” it is clear that this version of the Fantastic Four will be a darker, more grounded take on the team that takes its inspiration from the modernized “Ultimate Fantastic Four” comic books rather than the original series. An official synopsis follows:
Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Toby Kebbell, the film be released in theaters on Aug. 7.
