From a press release:

Stand-up comedian Joe Ohrin brings his talents to Wise Crackers Comedy Club at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 at 9 p.m.

Ohrin, a native of Northeastern Pennsylvania, has performed in comedy clubs across the country, including the Comic Strip and Stand-Up New York in New York City and The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. Joe has also been the opening act for Chris Rock, Robert Klein, Weird Al Yankovic, Jeff Dunham, and Beatlmania and has written jokes for “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” He is currently in the midst of a theater tour, which in recent months has seen him perform at such cherished venues such as the Samuel Clemens Center in Elmira, New York and the Scranton Cultural Center. Upcoming on the tour is the Deane Center for the Performing Arts in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania on June 16.

“I’ve been performing in the Wise Crackers chain of clubs for the last several years, and the Mohegan Sun location is by far my favorite comedy club on the East Coast. The stage is great, the crowds have been fun, and the fact that it holds more than 400 people makes every show an amazing experience,” Ohrin said.

He has also added a musical element to his act recently.

“Oftentimes when I do a corporate or a private show, I’ll write a song that’s special just for that event. I also do that when I play a town that I’ve played before and have become familiar with. I’ve put together a great parody of Marc Cohn’s ‘Walkin’ in Memphis’ and changed it to ‘Walkin’ in Wilkes-Barre.’ You’ve got to come to the show, of course, to hear it!”

Joining Ohrin on stage that night will be host and owner of Wise Crackers Scott Bruce. Along with running the chain of Wise Crackers, Scott is a published author with three books available on store shelves right now. Scott also hosted the Emmy award-winning PBS television show “The Pennsylvania Game.”

The headliner that evening will be Rodney Laney. Rodney was featured at Chris Tucker’s Comedy Club in Atlanta, during the Urban Comedy Festival “Laffapalooza,” and Judy Carter’s comedy showcase in Big Bear, California. He mostly appears in New York City, at the Gotham Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Caroline’s, and Dangerfield’s.

Tickets for the show are $20, and reservations can be made by calling 570-788-8451.
