From a press release:

After changing dates this morning, the Steamtown Music Awards will take place on Thursday, Sept. 17, and the Electric City Music Conference performances will kick off on Friday, Sept. 18 and continue through Saturday, Sept. 19. When everything was first announced in February, bands could apply to perform at various venues during the conference through SonicBids for $10, but local acts can now apply for free on the ECMC website.

All genres are welcome, and original bands are preferred. Cover acts that present cover songs in an original manner will be considered. Sets are 35-45 minutes, depending on the venue, and sound will be provided.

The event’s purpose is to recognize and advance the music community of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Attracting 4,000-6,000 attendees annually, it honors local talent through the Steamtown Music Awards, provides learning opportunities through educational seminars, highlights area talent through performances, and brings national-level talent to the NEPA market for music fans.

Further information can be found on the ECMC website, and organizers can also be contacted at electriccitymusicconference@gmail.com.
