From a press release:

Get into the spirit of fall and dive into a colorful pile of festive activities and autumn beauty at the Hawley Harvest Hoedown!

One of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s favorite annual events, the Harvest Hoedown celebrates fall in the charming town of Hawley with a weekend packed full of cider tastings, brews, contests, demonstrations, family activities, crafts, day and night entertainment, fresh locally grown foods, local maple syrup, pies, local business specials and deals, and so much more.

Hosted by the Downtown Hawley Partnership, the Harvest Hoedown will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3 beginning at 10 a.m. Several other organizations, including the Hawley Fire Department, the Hawley Library, and area churches will also be holding special events and activities.

From noon-3 p.m., local musicians are welcome to take part in the Folk Open Mic under the Ritz Company Playhouse marquee. Those interested in performing should sign-up in advance and bring their own instruments. The sign-up board will be available at 11 a.m.

As a finale to Saturday’s festivities, NEPA’s favorite hard-driving, foot-stomping bluegrass band, the Coal Town Rounders, cap off the annual Hawley Harvest Hoedown with two other high-energy bluegrass and folk bands. Complimenting this triple bill is four-piece MardiGrass band Roosevelt Dime, whose latest release, “Full Head of Steam” (2014), climbed to No. 6 on the folk charts in New York and No. 8 nationally. The concert also features 2014 RockyGrass Band Competition winners Caribou Mountain Collective. The show begins at 8 pm at the Ritz Company Playhouse (512 Keystone St., Hawley). Doors will open at 7:30 p.m.

“We have about 50 tickets still eligible for receiving the 10 percent Facebook share discount. We’re also raffling off 10 custom letterpress-printed Hawley Hoedown 2015 posters, designed and printed by Coal Town Rounders mandolin player and professional letterpress printer Matthew Hiller. All members of the Coal Town Rounders will sign the poster. The first 200 ticket buyers are automatically entered to win one of these custom printed posters,” explained Jill Carletti, production manager of the Hawley Harvest Hoedown Concert.

“We’re also thrilled to have the Hotel Belvidere host the after-party for this concert. The Hawley Harvest Hoedown and its first-ever bluegrass and folk concert was a highlight of last year for many of us, and we can’t wait to do it again.”

Seating for this show should be reserved, and tickets are tiered at different price levels. Bronze tickets are $16, silver tickets are $20, and gold tickets are $25, with the difference dependent on the seats chosen. Seats can be reserved online at harmonypresents.com or by calling 570-588-8077. Seats can also be reserved in person at AMSkier Insurance Agency (209 Main Ave., Hawley) during regular business hours.

Cocoon Coffee House will cater wine, beer, coffee and snacks on site at the Ritz during the show.
