VIDEOS: ‘Mario Kart 8’ live NEPA Gaming Challenge at Susquehanna Tavern in Exeter
After nine full episodes of the NEPA Gaming Challenge, Jamie Nelson, proprietor of 1Up Games in Forty Fort, and Jim Loomis, founder of Go Left! Records in Edwardsville, challenged the public to a game of “Mario Kart 8” on the Wii U in their first-ever live event on Friday, Feb. 19 at The Susquehanna Tavern in Exeter.
With free drinks, prizes, and pride on the line, they played round after round on a giant screen that stretched from floor to ceiling against various competitors, with Jamie holding his own against all of them but one. Watch the first 10 matches here.
Take Jamie and Jim on in “Street Fighter V” for the PlayStation 4 at the next live NEPA Gaming Challenge at The Vault Tap & Kitchen (301 N. Main Ave., Scranton) this Saturday, March 19! The event starts at 9:30 p.m., and a $5 entry fee gets participants a Miller Lite or Bud Light (or $3 off a different draft beer), a chance to play against the “pros” as a guest on the NEPA Gaming Challenge in a best of five rounds, and raffle tickets to win prizes.
