From a press release:

Do you think you can eat more Middleswarth potato chips than anyone you know? Can you defeat last year’s champ to become the King or Queen of Chips?

Wilkes-Barre food distributor Northeast Snacks has announced the second annual Middleswarth Potato Chip Eating Contest, which will be held this year at Sabatini’s Bottleshop & Bar (1901 Wyoming Ave., Exeter) on Saturday, Nov. 26.

Doors open at 11 a.m., and the all-ages, family-friendly event will take place at noon.

Contest participants, who must be 18 or older, will be challenged to eat the most amount of chips by weight in five minutes and can choose to scarf down BBQ or plain chips.

The winner will receive an official Chip Champ trophy, a $25 Northeast Snacks gift certificate, and the ultimate local bragging rights.

The cost is $20 per entry, which includes a t-shirt. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Candy’s Place, a Cancer Wellness Center in Forty Fort that provides support to cancer patients and their loved ones in a loving, safe, and home-like environment.

Entries, which are limited to 20, will be available for purchase at nepasnacks.com starting this Friday, Nov. 4.
