From a press release:

Small Business Saturday will once again equal big holiday fun in downtown Wilkes-Barre.

The F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre has announced the schedule of activities for its second annual Holiday Arts Market, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. as part of Wilkes-Barre’s seventh annual Small Business Saturday promotion.

The afternoon will feature a screening of the classic holiday film “It’s a Wonderful Life,” beginning at 1 p.m. Tickets are $3.

Back by popular demand, the holiday arts market will once again feature local crafts handmade by local artists, including Hels’ Bells Handmade, Marie Glassware, Nancy Turner, and Wonderlust Artisan Soaps. Admission to the art market is free.

Other activities include an ornament making station, a coloring table for the little ones, and a special tree lighting at 4 p.m. The tree lighting will be accompanied by local holiday performers and a visit from Santa. For more information, call 570-826-1100.

Many local retailers in the city will participate in Small Business Saturday, organized by the Downtown Wilkes-Barre Business Association, the Diamond City Partnership, and the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce. The event, which is celebrated nationally, highlights the small businesses that serve as the backbone of the region.

Customers will again enjoy holiday promotions and savings in their favorite establishments while supporting the independent retailers that are essential to downtown and the Wyoming Valley.

More than a dozen downtown businesses have participated in recent Small Business Saturdays, and this year will see even more participating retailers and special deals offered to local shoppers.
