From a press release:

The little town of Hawley is looking like Christmastown already, with a fresh dusting of snow and twinkling lights like the Hawley star, soon to be lit for the holiday season. Those who have walked or driven down Main Street recently have seen buildings cozily decked out in snowflake lights and light poles wrapped to look like candy canes thanks to help from Teeters’ Furniture and Myers Tree Service.

Local business owners and volunteers are busy getting ready for Hawley Winterfest, coming up next Friday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 11.

Originally established in 1999 to celebrate Hawley’s Victorian roots and the passing from the 19th through the 20th and into the 21st century, Winterfest has become one of the best-known holiday traditions in the region. Venture to this lovely small town nestled in the lake region of the Pocono Mountains and you will find a jolly dose of activities to delight you at every turn.

This will mark the 18th anniversary of this popular festival, with festive fun filling each day. Delicious holiday fare to the sounds of the season filling the air, a children’s show at the community theater, artists and authors mingling with residents and visitors alike, ice carving, gingerbread decorating, a spin in a horse-drawn carriage, homes boasting decked halls on the holiday house tours, and much more all make this a wonderful winter wonderland all weekend. Many lodging establishments and inkeepers have also offered special rates and packages for all three days.
