From a press release:

Boston indie blues and roots rock trio The Ballroom Thieves, who describe themselves as a “rock band in a folk suit,” will perform at Harmony Presents in the underground theater of the Hawley Silk Mill on Friday, Jan. 13 at 8 p.m.

“This band has constructed such a magical world, filled with exquisite harmonies, expert cello playing, and an unyielding passion. Their songs swell and jerk jauntily, never losing a listener’s attention. With vintage lyrics akin to those of old gospel or protest songs, like ‘Bury Me Smiling,’ The Ballroom Thieves are stealing from the old and making them new. Their most recent album, ‘Deadeye,’ takes a somber approach, reflecting on the difficulties of the road, the meaning of ‘home,'” says Jill Carletti, managing director of Harmony Presents.

“This will be The Ballroom Thieves’ debut performance with us at Harmony Presents. I’ve been trying to make this performance a reality for years, and I’m so glad it has finally come to fruition.”

Harmony Presents concerts take place in the historic Boiler Room of the Hawley Silk Mill (8 Silk Mill Drive, Hawley), the world’s largest laid bluestone building, and shows start at 8 p.m. and end around 10 p.m. Audiences are encouraged to arrive early for preferred seating.

Tickets, which are $20 in advance or $25 the day of the show, can be purchased online at harmonypresents.com or in person at AMSkier Insurance (209 Main Ave., Hawley) during regular business hours and on Saturdays between 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Cocoon Coffee House caters snacks, coffee, wine, and beer on site prior to the shows and during intermission.
