Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Shea

As we enter 2017, our goal is to find Shea a good home! This German shepherd mix is oftentimes overlooked and has been at the shelter for years. He barks if he doesn’t know you and is protective of his home and the people he has become friends with. He needs time and understanding. He needs a home with minimal visitors and no children.

What will he give to you? Peace of mind and safety. He will guard and protect his owner. Once Shea warms up and trusts you, he is a big baby. He is extremely affectionate to those he has bonded with. He loves giving kisses and being pet. His favorite thing to do is tear toys apart; he would do it all day if he could! He will be your best friend and cuddle partner.

Shea is an amazing dog that all the volunteers have come to adore. Don’t look past this guy – take a chance on him!

Luna and Rain

Luna and Rain are bonded sisters who are 9 weeks old and up-to-date on their shots and feline testing. These two are fun to watch as they play and explore their environment together.

If you would like to adopt these super sweet snugglers, please note that all kittens are kept in foster homes, not on the Blue Chip campus, so call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
